Nine years ago today James and I hit “publish” on the Rewind Shopify App Store listing, and started attracting our first users to Rewind. As we celebrate this special day, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our growth, remark on our accomplishments, and express our thanks to our amazing team, customers, partners, investors, and community who have been a part of this exciting adventure.
A journey of innovation and growth
Rewind was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: that businesses in the cloud needed a reliable, easy to use backup solution for their SaaS applications. Since then, we’ve grown from a small startup into a team of over 100 people, united by a common vision: to back up the cloud and restore it in seconds.
Our journey has been filled with significant milestones and accomplishments:
- Customer Trust: Our commitment to excellence has earned us the trust of tens of thousands of businesses worldwide, all of whom rely on Rewind to protect their critical data.
- Expansion of Services: Starting with Shopify, we’ve expanded our backup solutions to cover a wide range of SaaS applications including GitHub, Confluence, Jira, BigCommerce, QuickBooks Online, Bitbucket, and more. Today, Rewind is the leading multi-integration backup vendor, and we’re the #1 solution (based on revenue and installs) for practically all of the apps we support.
- Technological Advancements: We’ve continuously innovated, bringing new features and improvements to our platform, while ensuring that our users always have the most secure and reliable backup solutions. We’ve been able to scale Rewind to support the over 130,000 companies who have installed our solution, and now protect some of the world’s largest companies, including Hasbro, Sonos, Lutron, and Mercado Libre! We also built the Platform Engine, which allows us to quickly expand the number of platforms we protect, helping us fulfill our vision to back up the entire cloud.

Looking ahead
Our mission remains the same as it’s always been: to back up the cloud and restore it in seconds. We’ve already released two new integrations this year, Azure DevOps and Miro, with Okta coming soon. In the second half of the year, you’ll see us pick up the pace and launch even more integrations.
